Your First Visit to Parkwood Dental

Whether it’s been one year or twenty years, we want to help you feel as comfortable as possible. You’ll be greeted by our friendly reception staff and asked to complete a medical history form. This will give us important information to make sure you are treated as safely and comprehensively as possible. If you have a particular problem we can attend to that first and foremost and get you out of discomfort so you can carry on with your life! If you are attending for an examination we will conduct a thorough inspection of your mouth, not just the teeth, but also the gums and soft tissues in and around your mouth. Oral health is more than just healthy teeth.

As part of our examination we may need to take some radiographs (x-rays) to help us examine all aspects of your teeth – particularly between the teeth. If you would like, you can also have a clean done at this first visit. If you’re feeling a bit anxious about it we can do that at a later date. It’s important that you specify this when making the appointment so that we ensure we have enough time to do so. We will also spend some time helping you improve your own home care as this is just as crucial as coming to see us.

Once we have examined everything and gathered all the information we need, we can then plan out any future treatment required.
